This 60,000 sq. ft. dealership, constructed in 2014-15, was one of the first to be built to the precision specifications of Mercedes-Benz’s then newly developed prototype program. It featured a 16,000 sq. ft. underground showroom/parking area, 2nd floor offices overlooking the main floor showroom, a two-door service drive-thru, and a 14-bay service facility.
Our greatest challenge on this project was a summer of torrential rains—one of the wettest on record. Not exactly the best time to be building an underground showroom. The basement repeatedly filled with water, and the ground on site consisted of a large amount of silt, which had to be removed and bridged.
The exterior finishes included a combination of full-height curtain wall glazing, metal composite panels, insulated metal panels, and prefinished metal siding.
Today, this dealership has become a flagship location for the brand, and stands as the first of several projects we have built for this recurring customer.
